Switch between several themes

I want to provide several themes in my application and let the user switch between them. Is this possible with Angular Material 2?

in https://github.com/angular/material2/blob/master/docs/theming.md there is an info about multiple themes but I did not find anything about changing the theme at runtime. Did anyone managed to implement such a "theme switching"?

In Angular Material 1 there was $mdThemingProvider, but I did find anything like that in version 2.
