Hi guys,

Here's what I suggest we do in advance of the next meeting, on
Wednesday, 1st September at 7pm.

Let's try to read up as far as page 53 (in the PDF copy of SICP in the
group's resources).

And try to complete the exercises up to 1.13 on that page (preferably
in Clojure, but fall back to Scheme as the next-best-thing, if Clojure
poses a difficulty).

Ulises, I'm not going to attempt a write-up, but I may put a few notes
in that thread later in the week.

Regards,

Hi Stuart, Ulises, Rick, Jamie,

We're scheduled to meet on Skype tomorrow (Wednesday, September 1st) at 7pm.

How many of you can make it?

Even if you can't make the meeting: it will be easier to join in on
later meetings, if you're proceeding through the book.

A suggested agenda:

* introductions, for any newcomers. (5 min.)
* help one another with any dev. environment / setup issues. (5 min.)
* discuss any points of the material we want to raise.
We don't have to go through it exhaustively. (15+ min.)
* Discuss solutions to the exercises. (15+ min.)

And we'll guillotine the meeting at one hour.

Regards,

Kevin.

Hi,

I'm behind on the material, but I'll be able to make the meeting.

I should be able to make it. I am a bit behind on SICP material but
been pushing forward with Clojure (sort of a divergence :/ )

Hi,

As I discussed with Kevin during the meeting, I'm afraid that I'm going to have to (reluctantly) drop out at this point.

SICP has turned out to be everything that it's said to be, but unfortunately I won't be able to make the necessary time to keep on going. Learning Clojure has also been a great experience, and I'm sure that I'll do more with it in future.

Thanks to Kevin for some really interesting conversation, and hopefully I'll meet you guys some other time.

Cheers,

Ulises

I am very sorry to hear this. I suspect I will probably end up doing
the same as I just can't find the time (nor the internet connection)
to attend the meetings :/

Sorry.
