We were told by a roadworker at Interlaken last week he saw flood
irrigation going on just north of Bothwell so we came home va the
Bothwell road. He was right. Don't know where they get the water
from but there was definitely water lying in the paddock when there
hadn't been any rain for days. Just north of Bothwell, on the right
as you head towards the lakes. It is not coming from either of the
lakes; both are so far below critical level (even after winter) that
nothing will flow naturally from them any more.
