Very disappointing to see water being sprayed willy nilly on sags,
rocks and rubbish right beside the main road near the tip (Before the
"Pub with no beer" heading towards Apsley from Bothwell) this
afternoon. Don't know whether that water is from the Clyde or its
tributories via farmer's dam. Either way, it shows less than adequate
respect for the scarcity of the resource. Do they really need to
further degrade the Interlaken lakes just to waste it this way? Also,
we notice a lot of landowners persist with spray irrigation during
windy weather - guaranteed to evaporate a lot of the water as well as
missing root systems. It's been hapening along the Clyde Valley for
weeks.
