Hi Everyone,

I will now introduce myself sorry its taken me a few days i dont get
on net very often the kids are on more than me , My name is Julie, ok
i have been knitting since i was 7 years old my grandmother taught me
the basics just before she past away, I have tried to learn myself the
rest still struggle with a few stitches but getting there with the
books to help me i can only knit toys, scarfs cannot knit clothes yet.
I have just finished Eeyore cuddle cushion for my mum now knitting
bertie the bear. I'm from west yorkshire and I also love card making,
drawing, polymer clay, amongst all my other hobbies bit too many to
list but i would love to learn to crochet.
Ime hoping to find some friends on this group

I found the best book to learn Crochet from is "The Happy Hooker" by Debbie Stoller.  I received it as a Xmas pressie last year, and learned to properly crochet in a day from it.  I had a tiny head start, as I'd been shown the hooking technique before but not quite got my head around it... So, I found the clear pictures and text really helpful. 
 
Have you moved down to London then?  It you pop along to AngelKnits one Tuesday, I'll be glad pack the book, and to show you the basics, although, I'm still very much a knitter!
 
Saying that, I've never made a garment either, and I've been knitting nearly three years!  So, I wouldn't sweat it, just  enjoy the knitting process, that is what I do! :-)
