Hi all Angel knitters and in particular those helping out at Stokefest,

I have a business thing on tonight at the British Library so might be a bit late and wanted to make sure you all get this email below with the meeting times for the Stokfest event which is this Sunday.  My mobile to contact me on the day is 07798622493. If I miss you at the meeting tonight please could you text or email me so I have an idea of how many are coming.

Nikki – did you have the pattern we were going to use?

Lastly, as some of  you know I am also a member of the local WI which also meets on Tuesdays, their SnB session is once a month on a Tuesday and isn’t always well attended and they aren’t too happy with their location (Hobsgoblin pub) so at our last meeting I suggested that they might want to double up with us and passed along our meeting details. So if you have some new faces tonight they might be from the WI

Thanks

 Anna

Hey Anna,
Just a gentle reminder that stoke fest's coming up this Sunday 12- 3pm. The info (including stuff about angel knits is up on the website.)
www.stokefest.co.uk

We should have plenty of tables and chairs too.
There should be an interactive marquee at the fair - if you can aim to get to the marquee by 11.45am, that would be great. I hope to be there around that time or earlier.

Look forward to seeing you on Sunday,
best

Yolanda

We do have a web site that can be linked to the StokeFest website.

I will get Nikki, our resident it expert to send the link.  Small and manageable sounds good and I like your idea’s I’ll see what we can find.

Dear Anna,

Firstly, many thanks - that's brilliant news. I absolutely love your suggestions of starter packs too.

The workshop is intended to run from 12-3pm on Sunday 8th June and it will be inside a marquee - I will try to ensure that we have sufficient chairs. As it is quite a short time to run a workshop - I was thinking of making something small and manageable - do you have any suggestions? I was thinking potentially iPod covers or mobile phone covers.

Also, do you have a website or something as I will try to see what is going to be included on the Stokefest website and try to make sure your group is publicised. If not, do you want to include the angelknit email address?

I will confirm the amount of wool/needles that can be provided.

I plan to go up to Oxford on the 19th May so will come to a knitting workshop that week to meet the group and hopefully firm everything up.

Many thanks once again, I'm really looking forward to it.
Best

Yolanda

Have e-mailed you Flyers.

Now, people... Anyone else free on Sunday?

http://www.stokefest.co.uk for details!

This Festival gets around 20,000-30,000 people through the doors...
I'd guess there will be about 100 people out of that interested, and
god knows how many kiddlings...

Myself and Anna are not going to be able to cope with that on our own!

If anyone else can come along, it is a free festival, we are doing our
bit from 1pm until 3pm, the festival runs 12pm-7pm

Dear Angel knitters

To the whole group who came, Yolanda sent the email below to say thanks for coming and giving your time at Stokefest on Sunday. Nikki, Maggie and I managed to teach quite a few people to knit and spread the word about the group so maybe some new faces in the next few weeks.

As I write this Feline is sitting at some London airport on her way back to Germany then on to the USA, Canada and back to us on or around 11th July.  We wish her all the best in her travels and not to spend all her money on yarn in New York even if the exchange rate makes it so attractive. Verity has also been on holiday in France, so welcome back to her when she reads this.

We are now in the 6th month of the year and as one of my New Years resolutions’ was to complete WIPS and deplete the stash. I thought I would list my WIP’s for you proving that I have well and truly broken my resolution and in the hopes that someone else would reply listing theirs and it would be longer than mine!!

WIPS

Bears

As you all saw a few weeks ago Björn was completed, but now has the jaunty edition of a scarf and is keeping my nephew company in slumberland.  I have two more bears to be stitched up and stuffed one brown and one variegated pink; any suggestions for names gratefully received.

Bathmat

My bathmat is coming along slowly, taking its time to grow to the completed length of 60 cms, but it is repetitive and is now travelling to the cinema and in front of the telly ( I did quite a few rows whatching Indy at the Rio the other week).

Cardigan’s

My winter weight pink cardigan has ground to a halt.  I decided that the pattern was so basic and the wool so plain that I could liven up the ribbing with a pattern from the Nicky Epstein’s “over the edge” series…and that is as far as I have got.

Cotton summer cardigan, well it’s started!! Actually I bought the wool and started last summer, then it became winter so I started the pink one and then I needed to do Björn and friends and so is still a WIP

Yarn Stash Depletion

Well I did buy some new yarn at the show earlier this year, but I have used two of the balls to make one of the bears and Björn and his brown friend were completely from the stash, please can I have some credits for this?

How’s everyone else doing, have you made or missed any knitting targets this year?

See you at the New Rose 6:30 ish on Tuesday next

Dear Anna,
Just to say a big big thank you to Nikki, yourslef & Maggie for coming down to facilitate the workshop. It ran really smoothly thanks to your creativity, energy and help. Much appreciated.

I hope that you had a good afternoon at Stokefest and that we can collaborate again in the future.
Best wishes

Yolanda
