AIG members -- at the annual ASA conference in Orlando last fall, one
of the big topics was the way in which the lay public perceives
anesthesiologists. After a national survey, they found that the
majority of the country does not understand the anesthesiologist’s
critical role in modern medicine. The Lifeline Campaign is the ASA’s
response in hopes to boost public awareness and understanding of the
specialty of anesthesiology. The following is a letter from the ASA
