I have a shared google drive folder where I would like to share photos and the metadata from them. It works fine when I upload photos from my computer, but when I upload the photos directly from my phone the metadata disappears when accessing it on the drive.

I tried uploading photos to Google Photos from my phone and that preserves the metadata. So my solution, for now, is to upload the photos to Google Photos, download them to my computer and then upload them to Google Drive.

Goal is to easily find/select photos from within apps: Word, Outlook, Whatsapp, Messenger. Currently I'm going to Google Photos web, downloading photos, back to the app, inserting/attaching. I don't need local backup, streaming is fine. Any way to do this?

When you set up iCloud, you automatically get 5GB of storage. You can use that space for your iCloud backups, to keep your photos and videos stored in iCloud Photos, to keep your documents up to date in iCloud Drive, and more. You can always check how much iCloud storage you're using in Settings on your device or on iCloud.com. If you're running low, you can manage your storage to make more space or upgrade to iCloud+ any time.

If you're getting low on storage in iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 or later, you can go to Recommended for You in your iCloud settings and check if there are photos, large files, or backups that you might not need anymore and can delete.

iCloud Photos uses your iCloud storage to keep all of your photos and videos up to date across your devices. You can make more space in iCloud when you delete photos and videos that you no longer need from the Photos app on any of your devices.

Before you delete anything, make sure that you back up the photos and videos that you still want. When you use iCloud Photos and delete a photo or video on one device, it's also deleted on all other devices where you're signed in with the same Apple ID.

If you are part of an iCloud Shared Photo Library, photos added to the Shared Library only count towards the storage of the person who created the Shared Library. To delete items that count towards your iCloud storage, make sure that you're viewing your Personal Library.

To reduce the size of your Photos backup, save your photos and videos to your computer, then manually back up your device. If you want to keep your photos and videos on your device, you can turn off Photos in Backup or upgrade to iCloud+ for more storage. If there are any photos that you don't want to keep, you can delete them:

You can recover photos and videos that you delete from your Recently Deleted album for 30 days. If you want to remove content from Recently Deleted album faster, tap Select, then select the items you want to remove. Tap Delete > Delete. If you exceed your iCloud storage limit, your device immediately removes any photos and videos you delete and they won't be available for recovery in your Recently Deleted album.

About a year ago, I installed DPP onto my Mac. The program opened just fine and the file menu could "see" my Mac's my external drive where my Photos Library was located, but was UNABLE to display thumbnails or allow me to open an image. At the time, a Canon rep told me that DPP was not designed to work with a Photos Library on an external drive. I found this hard to believe, given how many folks keep their photos on external drives.

Not exactly the same problem but recent problems with DPP on finding files at locations other than the Macintosh HD. I haven't tried an external drive w/DPP but if I see different behavior than you, I'll let you know.

macOS is only willing to access a few types of file systems without third party drivers. My network drives are attached to a Debian Linux computer and shared via SMB. NTFS file systems for example do not work with macOS without a 3rd party driver. Some types of FAT file systems also do not work.

Important: When importing for the first time, think through how you want to organize your photos and where you plan to store them before you start to import. Planning ahead can help minimize the need to move photos later and possibly lose track of them in your catalog.

Select the photos that you want to import from the previewarea in the center of the import window. A check mark in the upper-leftcorner of the thumbnail indicates that the photo is selected forimport.

If you're importing photos by moving or copying them, specify where to put them: In the upper-right corner of the window, click To and choose a location for the photos. Or click a location in the Destination panel and specify other options:

Folder names that are italicized in the Destination panel indicate new folders that will be created when you import. Review the Destination panel carefully to help ensure that you are correctly importing the photos to your intended location.

However, now I open iPhoto, click "Switch to Library", select the external hard drive library, and iPhoto thinks there are no photos there - I get the "To get started with iPhoto" post-it note in the background, and there are no photos, events, etc.

I opened Database/Library.apdb in both the folder and the subfolder, and the RKMaster table seems to believe that there are no photos in my library (no rows in the table), however the Originals and the Modified folders have tons of photos there.

After all the glitz and glam, now things get real for Foley and his vision of bringing the NHL to Las Vegas. The league isn't endorsing the ticket drive, but the speed at which they reach the 10,000 sold mark will certainly give Bettman and the Board of Governors an idea that maybe a franchise can be supported there, whether by relocation or expansion.

The Texas Department of Public Safety issues driver licenses that are valid for up to eight years to Texas residents. Driver license offices are located throughout the state and offer services by appointment only. Same day appointments may be available at select driver license offices. Check here to determine if you must visit a driver license office or if you meet the requirements to conduct your transaction online.

Did you know that most Texas driver licenses (DL) and identification cards (ID) can be renewed up to two years before and after the expiration date? Did you know that you can replace, or change your address or emergency contacts on your DL, CDL, ID or motorcycle license without going into a driver license office? You may also be able to renew your DL, CDL or ID online. You can also obtain your driver record, check your driving status and pay reinstatements. You may also conduct a DL or ID transaction by telephone or by mail.
