This is typical behavior of a broken/worn down unifying receiver. The only way to fix this is to purchase another. However, you'll have to setup your old devices to the new receiver using Logitech's software.
This may have to be done with each new computer you use the mouse/new unifying receiver with. Although after a fresh install of Windows 8, my receiver picked up the mouse just fine without any of the Logitech software.
If the Receiver isn't being recognized it is not necessarily broken. I plugged my t600 receiver into my pc (win 7 64bit) and i am having these same problems. I move over to my laptop (windows 8) with the same receiver and i can use the mouse with no difficulty. There is something about windows 7 64 bit that is having issues with this. Test your receiver on a different device before claiming its broken. or returning your product. Chances are you may be able to make this work.
This seems to have affected not just logitech unifying receivers, but all USB Composite Devices. My Android tablet is also affected, as well as my Microsoft Xbox 360 USB Controller receiver, since it has two 360 pads sync'd to it, but my wired PowerA Minix360 is not affected. My microsoft wired keyboard 600 and logitech V220 are also not affected, as they are not 'USB Composite Device', but 'USB Human Interface Device'.
After installing this update, some USB devices and onboard devices, such as a built-in laptop camera, keyboard or mouse, may stop working. This may occur when the windows update servicing stack incorrectly skips installing the newer version of some critical drivers in the cumulative update and uninstalls the currently active drivers during maintenance.Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.Workaround steps are available in KB4091240.
Logitech Unifying Software is a utility software that lets users add or remove compatible Logitech mice, keyboards, and other devices to their unifying receiver. With the use of this program, you can pair your old receiver to new computer peripherals. The app is free to download and use and allows connections with up to six devices. However, there has been no update to the software for quite some time now, and the instructions for pairing are quite confusing.
Hi long shot here but I bought a Logitech mk320 keyboard and mouse kit for a windows 98se build. I only bought this because I had a mk185 mouse that worked fine. So in the kit there is one USB dongle the mouse that came in the kit is the same mk185 I had and it worked after a reboot. The keyboard however will not function. Works fine on a windows 10 machine so I know it works. I have ps2 drivers and hid drivers. If I restart the computer and press keys before and during post windows goes crazy when the desktop comes up. It says it found new hardware and then 10 windows 98 help windows come up. If I go into file explorer and click up in the address bar it just forever types the letter h. Is there a different driver I need to be looking for. Customer asked for wireless and after I first made the mouse work (before purchase of kit) I said I could do it.
Win98SE is a tough one because it's back before a lot of auto-install drivers were available for USB. Usually, on those older systems, you have to use directly-paired closed wireless devices. This makes it difficult for bluetooth and similar type devices that can connect with many wireless peripherals or accessories can be difficult to connect, or may not be compatible at all. The Logitech unifying adapters fall into this category. You'll have to check the logitech site and see if there is anything that will allow you to install the driver, or see if there is a person or group that has gotten the unifying dongle to work on Win98SE.
Again, You may need to purchase something like the Logitech Cordless Elite Duo.
This is not a unifying product. I made sure of that because I read there were issues on older systems. I didn't expect there to be only one dongle though. I cannot pair it there are no options or buttons. And the mk series stuff seems like it's pretty old tech. I read a post from 2014 about trying to get this stuff to work for msdos the OP said that he got some modded drivers to work on 98 but couldn't make them work on dos. I haven't found any more info. I will look into the product you mentioned though. Seems like a decent keyboard I may just keep it for myself and buy the different one.
While you might find ways to get the dongle identified, pairing a unifying device with a unifying dongle needs to be on a newer OS. There are links of people trying to get the unifying software to pair in XP, but it has a very poor track record of working. Vista seems to work much better but still has issues. Most materials say to use Win7, at minimum, to pair unifying devices. The consensus is use a newer system to pair the dongle with devices, if needed (The devices are usually pre-paired with the included dongle). Once the dongle and the devices are paired, if the drivers recognize the unifying dongle properly, the KB and Mouse will automatically work.
Again, the track record for unifying devices on older systems is NOT good.
I too am facing this, Although for me the mouse works but keyboard does not even pair to the Macbook pro anymore. Both are unifying reciever based devices. would appreciate if someone / logitech fixes this.
Same. I have a logitech k350 keyboard. the unifying application shows it connected, but only in the "advanced" settings. the volume control button works, but none of the other keys. i have set up all the security/privacy settings correctly in the system prefs and restarted multiple times but nothing is working.
Then reinstalled what appears to be the most recent Logitech drivers for Mac: "Logicool". I say 'appears' because it is the only download that lists 10.15 as an available Mac OS version. And the "Logitech firmware update" which recognized the Unifying receiver and reported a successful firmware update.
The issue was that my receiver died. Luckily I had an extra so I used logitech's Connect-your-device-to-a-Logitech-USB-receiver to attach the new receiver to my mouse. Once I did that I was able to connect the mouse to my computer.
I have a MK320 Keyboard and i lost its nano receiver. I tried using the unifying receiver and it is not compatible. Please let me know how to find a receiver for this. Also please let me know if there is a combo mouse for it such that i can buy that and reprogram the keyboard with that nano receiver that comes with the mouse.
Just to close the loop on this. There appears to be compatibility issue with Catalina and the Logitech Unifying Software and driver for MacOS. Even after updating the Unifying driver to the latest version on Logitech's website the Logitech Unifying Software still does see the Logitech G602 mouse. It doesn't look like Logitech has updated the driver software since 2018. I even tried the Logitech Unifying Software on another MacBook running Catalina and the software on the other MacBook also did not recognize the Logitech G602 mouse. I even tried updating the firmware on the Logitech Unifying receiver that came with the Logitech G602 mouse but it would not recognize the receiver USB dongle. MacOS Catalina does see the mouse as a USB Receiver HID device so the mouse does work. It just goes unresponsive and disappears every few hours. I did not see this behavior with Mojave with this same mouse. I have not tried reinstalling MacOS Catalina at this point since I have moved on with a generic Bluetooth mouse at this point. But, this just appears to be a device capability issue with Catalina.
I have a late 2016 MBP and the latest OS updates. This morning, none of my Logitech USB devices (K750 keyboard, M310 mouse) worked either. I thought it might be a faulty older usb 2 hub, but testing with a new USB-C to USB 3 hub, I got no recognition of the devices. I needed to work rather than troubleshoot all day, so I bought an extended mac bluetooth keyboard and magic mouse, which work well. I am also concerned that there is something going on with the usb connectors or how the system software handles usb 2 devices. I did upgrade both the firmware and the logitech unifying software prior to going all bluetooth. Please fix this issue..it sounds like something more than external hardware. Thanks
