I haven't written for a while, but I have some special news!

Its been a long time coming, but I have finally completed the finishing touches to my book about cycling from England to Georgia, the first book in a two book series. (The following one will cover Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, and Mongolia).

I started writing the book 'Weave of the Ride' in April 2009 when I returned from India. I wrote it obsessively getting all of the details from the journey  before going through a long process of editing, rearranging, and rewriting. Writing the book, has undoubtedly been the most engaging creative thing I have ever done. It is such a huge personal investment of time and was always sitting there nagging at me, if I wasn't working on it.

To me this book is more than just a travel log. It is a development of thinking and being, which I have documented and tried to communicate in a way that is engaging and of course, it comes with a large dollop of humour.

Here is the full blurb:
"After graduating from university, a year into an office job, Andy was dissatisfied with his life so he asked his best mate to cycle round the world with him in search of real adventure and with the ambition to promote his biggest passion, cycling. After a year of preparation, with no experience of travelling and no idea of what to expect, they left to do just that but what unfolded was a journey of a lifetime for which no planning could have prepared them, over one year and 12 countries, across Europe and Turkey to Sakartvelo. ‘Weave of the Ride’ is a tale of friendship, disaster, love, and self-transformation, by bicycle, set against the backdrop of a world of friendly strangers, strange weather, wild dog attacks, and a tapestry of rich local culture and hospitality."
