Hello.
I hope that the start to your year is going well.
The Slow Quest site has been closed as I am migrating to a new website which will be launched in a few months.
The Slow Quest project, a natural progression from my Ride Earth travel blog contained writings on trips that I made in the past few years around the UK; cycling and walking and journeys. I also reflected more deeply on my travels whilst reading a lot of critical theory during my MA in Design Critical Practice at Goldsmiths.
I've been able to take stock of that site, and I am currently working on some new projects with the content. I can't say too much at the moment, but there may some unique takes on your typical practical guide and maps, incorporating my interests in psychogeography, mapping, and philosophical work.
Whilst I work on this stuff, I have another project to do with organising and sharing of collaborative projects which is taking shape nicely. More on that soon.
I will also be exhibiting some photography this year at a few shows. I will send updates about these.
I did an interview with a friend doing PhD research collecting people's stories about thoughts on climate change, looking from a subjective point of view. He is looking for people to interview. It is a brilliant experience. If you are interested, please do contact me and I will pass on his details.
If you are interested in my cycling journeys then my book
Weave of the Ride is available. The official launch is coming up before the summer.
Keep up to date with me on Twitter @andrewwelch5,
Thanks,
Andy
