Multiple accounts support inmplemented in AndStatus

Hello all,

I'm glad to announce that after three months of part time development... this long-awaited feature has been implemented. I'm testing it on my Galaxy Note with Android v.4.0.3 for several days already and now it looks like it can be used by you :-)

 

Waiting for your feedback, I didn't published it at Google Play yet ;-) so please download installable package (v.1.5.0) from https://github.com/andstatus/andstatus/downloads

 

Full list of changes in this version:

1. Multiple User Accounts support added. User can easily switch timeline between accounts.

2. Accounts are managed using Android Account Manager (in "Accounts and sync" device settings). This is why new permissions were added.

3. Fix for "Use External Storage" option for Android v.4.0. This fix forced us to compile package against Android v.4.0 (API 15). However AndStatus still works for Android v.2.2 and higher.

4. Fixed Search and "Loading..." layouts for Android v.4.0.

Welcome to the AndStatus project - new incarnation (and hopefully not a fork only) of AndTweet - light-weight  Open Source Twitter client for Android OS v.1.5+.

The new project was created specifically as a community initiative, not associated with any person or commercial entity (so andstatus.org domain was registered) and not tied to Twitter only (hence name changed to avoid possible twitter.com ban).
Source code hosting moved to the GitHub, new AndStatus "GitHub organization" created to facilitate team growth. The organization is the owner of the AndStatus source code repository. 

I hope these project changes will  increase Developer's involvement
and ensure project viability and success in the long run.

PS: During last two months we had long conversation with Torgny Bjers, AndTweet founder. Unfortunately we had no enough time to agree on exact path of the project changes but we both agreed on the necessity of major changes in order to move on.
