New MQ user facing error in feature detection

Hi all, 

I am using MQ 1.6.17 to process SCIEX.wiff files. However, it stops at the feature detection point and I get the following error message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". Further details are visible in the attached image. MQ crashes after this step. 

Any advice is much appreciated. Is there some more information I should provide, that can help resolve this issue?
