Shares and notes

I work for someone who is new to android, and I got them using the
stocks app. He loves it, and have been using it for about a month now.

It was really easy for him to enter his shares (the prices and amounts
he had bought stocks at), and was easy to see how those shares
underneath the graph. See this picture:

Unfortunately the recent update changed the way that shares are
displayed. He is now frustrated, and no longer using the app.

Is there any way to keep the recent changes, but put the 'shares'
section on the individual stock page (the way it was)? Or if that's
not possible, can I downgrade his version to the one just before the
recent update?
