Hi guys, me and few other developers have created a whatsapp group and facebook page and telegram group for droidscript developers.

Why make this group?:
- It's an easy and fast way to communication and share projects between developers.
- Makes it possible to share large amounts of data and even files that are not allowed on google sites such as APKs.
- Developers can now work on larger projects together while still in live connection
- Learners, now have access to instant short video tutorials on these platforms and even make make voice calls to ease things up.
- Access to Voice and Video calling with members.
- Builds up own self confidence in your ideas, in your code, and in your own ability to make something as you have many people in your corner.
- Help DroidScript reach out to all corners of th world faster with these platforms.
- Make friends
- Build a business
- Learn more about DroidScript everytime
- Learn JavaScript and other programming languages more quickly.
- Sharpen your coding skills
- Bigger access to resources like icons etc..
- Instant responses / help.

I wonder why you didn't create a Discord server too.

However you know what I and probably Steve too think about external/inofficial groups.

This forum is not only supposed to be a platform where you can ask questions but also a online reference which can be used to search for answers of questions which may have been already asked.

You aren't not allowed to run external groups but its not something I'd recommend too.

Also DroidScript won't be responsible for anything that happens there. (Ie. posting of apks is not allowed here for a reason)

And above all, no one there is a representative of DS.

I understand your point but FYI I am also part of DroidScript forum official team and I do understand the risks involved in this step.

NB: Please do know that I would not do anything without consulting with Mr Dave first.

I believe that we can avoid these risks or setbacks by working together, that is, You, Steve and other forum team members to help manage these groups. Even if you create groups likes these, I would support you all the way!!!

I personally run these groups and I have helped a lot of people learn coding(JavaScript & HTML) using DroidScript. Even I have learnt also from others and still do.
I don't teach strangers for personal gain and neither do I get paid for doing it but I do it voluntarily because I like helping people and from experience, DroidScript has made a positive impact in my life that I see it as something that can change lifes for better.

- Here are some of the reasons:

My vision is to see DroidScript grow into something bigger to an extend that it reaches out to the communities especially the poor communities where there is jobless youths who do not have the resources to begin their journey in Application Development. When I say "resources", I mean;

1. You need a computer to code, to run SDK software, to compile code and all that stuff. DroidScript came to the rescue. :) Now you dont need a computer to write your program

2. You have to obtain some kind of a degree in computer science to get a job in this field. Why don't we make go over board, make DroidScript popular so that everyone gets employed for their knowledge in DroidScript or for what they have made with DroidScript, so if we want large cooperations like Facebook to employ DroidScript Developers, then we need to make a step forward and pass the word out. I am sure you will be surprised to find that they are greater minds in the world who just haven't come across DroidScript YET!

3. Not everyone have access to the Internet, especially in Africa, internet data is expensive to buy but you find that Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, Twitter...are cheap and sometimes free. so why don't we let everyone stay connected with us by creating grounds on these platforms.

4. DroidScript is 1 Million+ downloads and Facebook is 1 Billion+ users. Again, I want to see DroidScript grow bigger!

5. There are countless more reasons why we should let DroidScript be known by all and how it can help make life easier for our beloved brothers but it begins with you and me.

I'm pleased that you want to promote the use of DroidScript and I don't object (in principal) to the creation of external 'unofficial' groups for DS users as long as you make it very clear on those groups/platforms that they are 'unofficial' and not moderated or endorsed by droidscript.org

I should also clarify that even though I did request that you help out on the official DS forum (because of your good DS knowledge), that does NOT actually make you 'part of the official DS team'.  SteveG and AlexF(Symbroson) have admin access to the DS forum and/or GitHub accounts which does make them 'official'.

Thanks a lot for pointing that out. Yes, I do make it very clear on these external groups / sites that they/I am not an official member of DroidScript but someone who is teaching and also learning in the process. It's more fun when you work together :)

I wish I could have done even more to see DS grow bigger.
