I am very new to DroidScript and I am trying to connect my phone (Moto G3) to my computer (2011 Macbook Pro).
Both devices are connected to the same router but when I type the IP address (192.168.1.69:8088) into the browser it never loads.
I tried it with the DroidScript Chrome app and it fails with the message "Connection Error. Please check the IP address and try again.
What is the issue here?

Do you copied the ip address the DS app shows when touching the arrow on the upper bar?

If you press the button its color changes to green. Does it?

I typed it in exactly as it appears on my phone.
The arrow is definitely green.

Christopher,
A couple of things to note.

If you use the chrome app instead of the browser, you do not need the port number, just use 192.168.1.69 (true in Windows, I assume it is the same on your Macbook)

In the browser you also need :8088

I would expect the chrome app to work better than (for instance) safari.

But I would guess that your problem may be that your phone is going into lock mode.

While the WiFi editor is trying to connect, make sure your phone screen is awake by moving your finger on it if necessary.

When I use the WiFi editor, I normally connect my phone to a charger.

In the phone's
Settings ==> Display
I set it to timeout after 30 minutes of inactivity.

If you do this, do not forget to set it back to its normal setting before putting the phone in your pocket.

Thank you for the tips.
I had been using the port number in the web app. I tried it without and making sure the screen was still on, but the problem is still there.

Christopher,
The DroidScript installation process uses quite a bit of space.

Is it possible your phone was a bit short of storage space when you installed DroidScript?

If so, it is possible that some of the WiFi editor files were not extracted properly.

If you are able to clear a few megabytes on your phone, you could try uninstalling DroidScript, shutting down and restarting your phone, then reinstalling DroidScript.

Please let us know if that does not fix the problem.

I was able to connect properly when I changed to a different WiFi router.
I was on holiday when I first started using Droidscript and the WiFi IDE wouldn't work with the WiFi setup at the house I was staying.
I am now back home and can connect no problem with my WiFi.
Thank you for all the help.
