If you use the chrome app instead of the browser, you do not need the port number, just use 192.168.1.69 (true in Windows, I assume it is the same on your Macbook)
In the browser you also need :8088
I would expect the chrome app to work better than (for instance) safari.
But I would guess that your problem may be that your phone is going into lock mode.
While the WiFi editor is trying to connect, make sure your phone screen is awake by moving your finger on it if necessary.
When I use the WiFi editor, I normally connect my phone to a charger.
In the phone's
Settings ==> Display
I set it to timeout after 30 minutes of inactivity.
If you do this, do not forget to set it back to its normal setting before putting the phone in your pocket.
Is it possible your phone was a bit short of storage space when you installed DroidScript?
If so, it is possible that some of the WiFi editor files were not extracted properly.
If you are able to clear a few megabytes on your phone, you could try uninstalling DroidScript, shutting down and restarting your phone, then reinstalling DroidScript.
Please let us know if that does not fix the problem.
