APK or Android App Bundle is using permissions that require a privacy policy

Hi DS, I am trying to upload a new release for Open Testing on Google Playstore Console but I get the ff error after uploading my apk:
" Your APK or Android App Bundle is using permissions that require a privacy policy: (android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE).  "
I have ensured correct version number and other precautions as directed by Steve the last time, but this error came up. How do I bypass this hurdle please?

Hi,

According to https://droidscript.org/wiki/doku.php?id=plugins:building_an_apk

Your build.json can include  "removePermissions"

You could try removing the permissions for  READ_PHONE_STATE
