Android break-out box?

ie, You connect say a sensor (PIR?) and a button and a light into the break-out box.
The break-out box also plugs into the phone,
You then write an app to use the button to turn the sensor on and off,
and the app turns on/off the light when it sees activity?

Thanks, Dave.

HI,
I recall an app that used the camera to detect movement.
Depending on the phone you may be able to sense light levels.
There is a video on using DS to control a device that can be connected to lights etc.
There are examples of using Espruino, Espruino, Nxt, Banana PI, etc
Regards, ah

You could make your own breakout box using on of the pre-programmed RP2040 or ESP32 boards and modules available from these stores -

DroidScript already has ready-to-run Micropython examples and you can program these devices directly from you phone using a USB-C cable (from the 'Microcontroller' Tab in DS)

The STEMMA/QWIIC type devices are particularly easy to work with as you usually don't need to do any soldering, just plug compatible sensors and modules into the tiny I2C port.

The latest available beta of DS also has examples for the following board (including one for making a remote wifi controlled switch)
