HI,

Do you mean AAB?

If you want to publish your app on Google Play Store it has to be in AAB format.

The DS apkbuilder  plug-in generates AAB's from your project.

You can also share AABs with your friends/etc who haven't got DS installed 

and they can't see your code.

At the moment ...

DS can still build APKs, 

if you've already uploaded an APK to Google Play Store then you can upload a new version of the APK

and you can still share APKs with friends/etc

But new apps MUST use AABs on Google Play Store.

To be clear

If you want to publish your app anywhere other than on Google Play, the AAB format is not what you need, so you dtill need to be able to create APK files

In fact Google Play creates APK to serve up parts of the AAB to the user when thy install it

If you have the latest DS and APKBuilder (version 2.5)

then long touch on your project/app on the DS home page, and choose Build AAB

(requires Premium).

Soz. Just when I think I know about APK/SPK/AAB, I learn that I know very little.

https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/03/24/apkmirror-installer-for-android-now-in-public-beta-lets-you-install-app-bundles-and-apks/ implies that you can upload AABs to APK Mirror, but downloaders need to install APKMirror (which I believe tries to give them the best components for their device).

APKPure doesn't mention AAB at all (so I suspect it doesn't allow them).
