SPK created on Android 11 gives message "Invalid Package" on Oreo

HI,

I created an SPK On Android 11 DS 2.09 and shared it thru email

Then I downloaded it on Oreo DS 2.09 and opened it.

I get message "Invalid Package!"

Is the SPK exactly the same size on both devices?

What exact process are you using to install the SPK on Oreo?

Android 11 3.78MB 3962369 bytes

Sent to to email

If I open email and download on Windows it is 3,962,369 bytes

On Oreo Gmail if I long press the attachment it says it says 3.8Mb

If I touch the download arrow then File Manager details says 1.8 MB

If I touch the document icon in Gmail, I get Open with DroidScript Just Once / Always or OfficeSuite

Opening with DS gives me the error (and shows the DS Home page).

(This is above my pay grade, but does that mean the file is being truncated?).

I'm not sure truncated is the word I'd use (because I don't know if it's accurate) but it certainly looks like it's losing a lot of its content

Frankly I had assumed Gmail had taken a dislike to something in it and ripped it out. It doesn't look like that's what happened though

Somewhere in the back of my head I have a feeling that someone might pop up and say

"It could quite possibly take up less space on the Oreo because ..."

But I can't think what the end of that sentence might be but if there is such a sentence I bet it has the word "bits" in it

If you just forward the email back where it came from, is the SPK still intact?

Are you able to upload a good copy the SPK to Google Drive and download it onto the Oreo directly?

If so is it the right size?

On Android 11 (DS 2.09) Share SPK to Gmail doesn't attach the SPK (probably scoped storage).

So I Save SPK, use X-Plore to find the SPK (3962369 bytes, and Share to GMail (attached 3.8Mb).

Don't usually send/forward, I just leave the emails in my Draft folder 

(as a multi version backup, and to download to other devices using the same email address)

If I open the email on Android 11, download and open, then it seems to replace the app in DS OK. 

It looks like this phone (Nokia 1.3) doesn't have Google Drive pre-installed

I seem to be having this problem on my Samsung under Androud 14 now.

Even seems to occur for SPKs created on this phone (not emailed, etc) probably under older DS

It looks like opening SPKs on my SD card

gives error Invalid Package

But copying to Internal Storage and opening works
