Hi

How big is the APK for the App you are trying to install? - are you including many assets in your App?

I presume you don't have any trouble installing any other Apps on your phones? (from Google Play for example)

Thanks

Chris

Try CleanMaster on Google Play Store!
This App has fixed some Google-Play-Store Problems for me and could also fix your Problem.

Hi,

It is possible that this message is a 'red herring', it might be something in your APK or package name is causing this error.

Try building the standard Hello World App as an APK and use the default package name.

I'm also getting same issue: "Out of Space" - Couldn't be installed. Free up some space and try again.
Have got the issue on both Samsung Phone and Tablet.
Android version is 4.4.2
13GB of free space (not SD Card installed).
I have tried installing basic "hello world" as well as my own program - both <3mb in size.
Don't believe either have any assets to install.
Have cleared cache and run CleanMaster.
I can download and install other programs from Play Store so don't believe its a phone/space issue?
I Wonder if Droid is defaulting the APK to install on SD card (Which I don't have) by default (if that is possible) ?
that's the only thing that comes to mind. any other ideas or things to try?

Hi Nick,

The DroidScript manifest has the following setting:-

android:installLocation="auto"

This means the phone should decide where to put the APK.  Do you have your phone set to install to sdcard by default?

How far does the installation get before reporting the space issue?

No the phone isn't set to install on SD by default.
As it starts installing it comes up with the error.
Have tried debug and non debug builds.
Same result.
Phone settings enable installs from other sources etc.
Have also now tried on a 3rd device - hudl - with same result so don't think it is device or settings.

Hi Nick,

What App are you using to install the APKs?

Is it the Samsung file explorer or are you using a 3rd party App like ES File explorer?

Hi Dave,

Using es explorer to install though have also emailed it to myself using es and tried to install from the email.

Hi Nick,

Have you tried uninstalling DroidScript and Reinstalling it and reinstalling the APK builder, then rebuilding the APK?

Also did you try building an APK on another device?

Note: Your plugin purchase is associated with your primary email address so you won't have to pay again.

Thanks Dave. Sorted after uninstalling and reinstalling. Think issue down to not going with the default name in the build box which only resets with reinstall?

Hi Nick,

I'm glad you got it working :)

You should however be able to choose what package name you want (with a few restrictions).

What package name were you using when you had problems?

Note sure it came up with com.myname.dq1 (dq1 being the app name i chose) when I reinstalled it.
before i just put in the name dq1 and that might have been the issue?

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the feedback, looks like we need to prevent single word package names anyway.
