Free FTP Plugin now available!

Hi Guys,

We have just released a free FTP client plugin which allows you to transfer files to and from remote FTP servers, list directories and many other things too. This plugin was written and documented by Chris Ferrell (a.k.a Chris Topher) from this forum. He kindly provided the source code and docs to droidscript.org for us to check, build and release so that you guys can all benefit from his excellent piece of work :)

Bug? The ftp cliebt runnig fine in the droidscript. But make a apk and install, dont run the connection?!?

Yes Sergio, it's a bug.
I am sure someone will fix it soon.

As a temporary fix, add this line of code at the top of your app.

_AddPermissions( "Network" );

This is now fixed, please reinstall the FTPClient plugin and you will no longer need the _AddPermissions statement.

Within the droidscript app you installed. Press menu. Press plugins. Wait for it to load once loaded you will see the ftp plugin. Click install.

Once you have installed the plugin, go into the normal docs in DroidScript.
This should have a section "Plugins" which includes the docs for the ftp client plugin.

Great job, thanks !

Is it possible to use sftp ?

With Filezilla and my ftp server : sftp with port 22 = ok

With Droidscript and my ftp server : ftp with port 21 = ok

With Droidscript and my ftp server : sftp with port 22 = ko :

"could not parse response code" during the connection

No, the ftp plugin doesn't use sftp. I had looked into adding it, but it changes a lot.

Maybe in the future :)

So great, I think now would be a good time. I really wish this would be the future you were talking about.

I am looking into using droid script for in app ftp file transfer, is there a way to add SFTP support for this, .
