Hide Keyboard for TextEdit object?

You guys were kind enough to tell me how to request a numeric keypad for data entry on a TextEdit object.  Works great.  But now I need to tell the TextEdit object when I want it to hide its keyboard.  (like when I click a button to accept the value entered into the numeric keypad.  I looked through the methods provided for the TextEdit object, but nothing jumped out at me for this purpose. 

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!
