I just switched phones and transferred apps to moto g stylus 2022, android 11. I can''t create a new file. Get a "Webb page not available" message. How do i fix this?

HI,

What version of DS is this (touch top right icon of three vertical dots, then touch About) ?
Is the phone connected to the web (wifi or sim card) ?
I presume you are touching the three vertical dots, the touching New.
What are you specifying for app name, Native/HTML, etc ?

I don't see any posts with this specific message.
https://groups.google.com/g/androidscript/c/6GZHbodwv9s/m/6ZBAVFd7N4wJ (and other posts) recommend deleting "the File "/sdcard/DroidScript/index.html" and the Folder "/sdcard/DroidScript/.edit"
(personally I'd back anything up before deleting) and "reinstall DroidScript"
(RE)install DS on top  of your current version, do not uninstall the current version,
because Scoped Storage on Android 10+ deletes all your projects/apps if you uninstall.

ah

The version is 2.5, have a wifi connection and sim card. I tried to launch in both. The home screen has no default files shown. When i tap the new file icon (upper left) I get a webb page with webpage not available with message  file:///storage/emulated//Droidscript/.edit/docs/Docs.html? ds=true  could not be loaded because: net:: ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND.  i looked at app permissions  and  droid script is allowed access to media file only but not allowed to " manage all files". I don't seem to have an option to change this.

Thanks
Ken

HI,
If you are getting these messages and there are no projects/apps showing (not even Hello World)
then at least one folder is empty.
Have you tried
backing up and deleting the File "/sdcard/DroidScript/index.html"
backing up and deleting the Folder "/sdcard/DroidScript/.edit"
Install current DS from the Google Play Store (do not uninstall current version).
On Android 10+ you probably have Scoped Storage
(all apps are restricted on the folders they can access).
If you can't find these  files/folders with the Files app ,then I use X-PLore (free on Play Store).
Also files/folders whose name starts with dot (.) may be hidden
(Files app > Menu > Settings > Advanced > Show Hidden Files)

I had emailed myself the spk files I wanted to save before updating phones. Using X-Plore (nice)  with show hidden selected I find Droidscript in "app manager" "installed". taping this icon runs the program.  I do not find droidscript in the "sandisk sd card" or " internal shared storage folder".
Thanks

HI,
In Xplore touch the three vertical dots in the top right, the Configuration lets you Show Hidden
Without Scoped Storage DS is in somewhere obvious (I think it's)
Internal > Droidscript
With Scoped it's in
Internal > Android > data > com.smartphone.androidscriptfree > files > DroidScript
there should be subfolders for at least Hello World
If you're sure you have all your SPKs you could try uninstalling DS and re-installing.
If that fails then you'l  need the official/technical tem.
Regards, ah
