We’re looking for a senior software engineer to be one of our early team members. You’ll be a lead architect of and contributor to our Android-based platform for app development on smart glasses. We’re working on everything from HUD and AR user interfaces, to sensor fusion, to inter-device Bluetooth communication.

You:

• Have 5+ years (3+ years with a Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science) of software development experience.
  
• 2+ years of experience developing on the Android platform, such as having a published Play Store app or major contributions to an open-source Android app/library/framework project.
  
• Thrive in a startup environment, having been an essential member of at least one prior startup.
  
• Able to architect a project as well as roll up your sleeves and code alongside the team.
  
• Have high standards for your own work and that of others, but know when to cut corners to get things done.
  
• Collaborate and communicate effectively. We work as a team — brilliant hermits need not apply!
  
• Are passionate about coaching and mentoring other engineers, improving the skills of those around you.
  
• Know how to interview and recruit awesome engineers like yourself, having participated in the hiring process in your previous roles.
  

Our Space:

• We work in an open, collaborative space, with high ceilings.
  
• Our fridge is always stocked with beer, soda, water and other drinks; we have all the snacks you could eat (and yes, that’s a challenge!); and a micro kitchen so you can express your inner chef.
  
• The office is centrally located on the Central Loop streetcar line. For those who prefer to get around on two wheels (Portland is the best bike city in the U.S. after all!), we have bike racks and good bathroom facilities with a shower.
  
• We’re less than a block from one of the top coffee shops in Portland, Coava Coffee, and walking distance to some of Portland’s best food carts, restaurants, and microbreweries. Also, downtown is just a quick walk across the bridge.
