Nike is looking for someone with deep experience in the Android space to help lead some of our amazing Android development efforts. This position is located at Nike's world campus in Beaverton, OR. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

YOU WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO...

  • Help lead and design our Android mobile applications.
  • Drive architectural decisions across multiple products.
  • Lead and mentor other Android engineers on the team.
  • Collaborate with platform and hardware architects to create next generation technologies that support reuse, stability, and high volume consumer products.
  • 80% of the role will be hands on development in the code bases of multiple projects.
  • Present and be a thought leader at our mobile developer groups providing new insights, techniques, and trends in the Android community.

Desired Skills and Experience

WE'RE LOOKING FOR...

  • The ideal candidate will have a history of architecting, developing, and shipping large-scale consumer mobile products on the Android platform in multiple geographies.
  • 7 years minimum software design and development experience working on large projects.
  • Extensive experience with Android and the application level. This is not a low level NDK focused position.
  • Fluency in Java, but expertise in other mobile platforms is desired.
  • A strong background interacting with REST based platforms and ideally experience with lower level binary wire technologies (Thrift, MessagePack, Protocol Buffers).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Extensive experience with profiling, optimization, debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with BLE devices and hardware is desired.
