Twin Cities Google Technology User Group (say that three times fast)

Hey gang,
Last week I attended to the inaugural Twin Cities Google Technology
User Group meeting. There were only a few of us there, but we were
able to set the tone for future meetings.

Google announced the GTUGs at Google I-O earlier in the year. The
idea is pretty simple: Get a bunch of Googlers together and talk about
what's going on in the Google development world. Here's a link to the
official Google description http://www.gtugs.org. It talks about APIs
and developers and what-not, but the group is open to anyone that is
passionate about Google technologies. We decided to have our monthly
meetings on the first Tuesday of the month.

Here are some topics we chatted about this past meeting:
App Engine
Google Health
Google Earth/Maps
Android (I stood on my soapbox)
Google Apps

I was the only Android surrounded by 5 iPhones. Come out and
represent!

Thanks for details on the GTUG Beon! I am definitely planning to get out and help represent the Android market here in Minneapolis. =)

I checked out the website and don't see an update on the next meeting, but have signed up for hte google group, it looks like there is some debate on when the meetings will be. You mentioned the group would be meeting the first Tuesday of the month. Was there a meeting on July 7th?

Anyway, thanks for posting this info and am defnitely interested in attending the next meeting.

We had our fist meeting on the 30th of June. It was an informal gathering.

The next meeting will be on August 4th. I believe that we have a
location as well. I'll see if I can stir up some more details.

I'll be there on August 4th. Was it ever decided if it would be at 7:00 or 8:00? Let us Android Developers know.. =)

DOH! I double booked myself. I already have an event that evening and won't be able to make the GTUG. Damn... Let's catchup a day or so after the event. I'm very curious to hear how it goes and would love to attend in September.
