Hi all.... this is a model slightly before the ones that are shipping
now with Android on board so I thought I should be OK.... it appears
not.

So far off the current live disk only VESA for the display will work
( the others hang just before the GUI ) and wifi most defo does not
work ( although I'll play more as I'm aware it wont work at the same
time as the ethernet ).

When I do enable it in the menu it says error.

So my question to the devs is what infomation do you need to support
this box ? Pretty sure its out there some where as the later models
are supported nativley ?

Also OT on my desktop Atom machine ( a 945 dual core ) I have found
that it runs nice except for cetain menu types like the power off
dialogues.... I tested it on this Acer too and its the same....

Acer Aspire series, even if it was not built nor optimized for the
Atom based Netbooks. Here :

At least you can tell me if the display is correct or not. WiFi and
Ethernet may not work, as the chipsets should be differents.

Then send me the most informations you can provide, if you have some
little background with linux : lshal, dmesg, lshw, ...

Use a (Live) Ubuntu version if you can...

Right.... had problems withj Ubuntu booting which was odd so used my
Parted Magic disk.... if this is not what you need let me know and
I'll look in to the ubunto boot prob..... I think its looking for a
driver to use the USB DVD I have....

Ah.... sorry.... thought I had. The answer is no I could only get
android to boot under vesa ..... the too higher resolution options
just hung in the dame way the current live build did.

Ok, I have a better idea about this Netbook. This is a really weird
one as it use a dual core Atom CPU with a subset of the GMA500 Poulsbo
GPU.

I think you should use the Viliv build and chance are that both the
display and WiFi will function on your Netbook, at least for the
display I'm quite sure it will and "may be" the WiFi as well.

So please, report me what is working and what not...

Got a working test build for the Viliv... the graphics on the animated
android boot logo are currupted and it stops booting at that point...
looks OK just before mind. I am sort of hoping Chih-Wei Huang will add
support for this at some point.... I mean its Atom based as such.
