Getting Android x86 to work on Asus Transformer Mini T102HA

hello all and thank you for approving me to join this group. I have an Asus Mini Transformer 2 in 1 tablet pc model # T102HA which came with Windows 10 but I would like to use it with Android as I do not like Windows 10 as a tablet os very much. I have tried Android x86 64bit version 6.0 r3 and Android x86 64bit version 7.1 r2. With Android 6.0 r3, screen rotation, sound, and camera do not work. On Android 7.1 r2, screen rotation works but wifi does not work as well as sound and camera. I can do without the camera but would love to have sound and wifi working. Anyone else try Android x86 on this device? I boot it with a USB flash drive with secure boot disabled which works but the wifi does not work neither does the sound. I am guessing that the problem with the sound could be that there are no drivers for this devices sound card as this is a Windows 10 device but not sure if that is the case or not. Thanks.

Some specs of problematic device will help.. Use Hwinfo or Aida64 on Windows or Aida64 on Android and link some perport..

I have been doing some experimenting and found that if I plug in a usb headset, I get sound  but still no wifi on android 7. I have taken a screenshot if my tablet specs. Let me know if more information is needed. Thanks.

This only processor info, this doesnt help too much, we need better report - with info about souncards and wifi chipset etc..

In HWinfo topmenu is Report-Create and htm format.. that what is needed.

Here the specs:


The Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter is the chipset for WIFI.
I don't know if it is supported on Android X86.

I tried it and the sound does not work unless I plug in a usb headset. The good news is auto rotate and wifi work in this build. The camera does not work but that is not a major problem for me. I would like to get the sound to work so I can at least set up a dual boot system with Windows 10 and Android.. Its interesting that wifi works on this build but not on Android x86 7.1-r2 as both of these are running android nougat.

For sound issue, cherry trail CPU is not well supported on the Linux kernel. So read my post for try to resolve a sound issue:

Running the commands outputs the following 

for alsa_aplay -l
aplay:device_list:242: no soundcard found

for alsa_amixer contents
amixer: Control default open error: No such file or directory

Not sure what the output is saying but to me it looks like it is seeing some sort of HDMI audio but there is no HDMI audio on this device. Can you tell me what does this output mean and what other information is needed or things to try to get sound working from built in small speakers  and 3.5m headphones. Thanks.

I don't want to say anyting with old 4.9 kernel
but,i have to say t100ha and t102ha has rt5645 with 10ec3270 acpi id.
you need try Phoenix OS 2.6.4

Others possibility options are:

1) If the tablet has Bluetooth, you can try to listen audio with Bluetooth earphones for example
2) Not tested, but someone stated that cheap Chinese USB audio dongle can work in Linux Kernel

Looks like it might have something to do with the old 4.9 kernel as I just tried Phoenix OS and the sound does indeed work but there are issues with screen resolution and rotation so it looks like I may just watch the progress of Phoenix OS and Android x86 and try out the new builds when they are released to see if there are any improvements. Thank you.
