Hello

In the begining I would like to tank all Android-x86 developers for awesome work.

I've been testing different versions of Android-x86 on my Windows 10 tablet Nuvison TMAX-TM800W601L
I am using android-x86_64-8.1-r4 on which most of functions works (touch, sound, power button, portrait-landscape reversed but working, etc.)

On android-x86_64-8.1-r4 first I faced problems with turning on WiFi and bluetooth but after researching interent and checking dmesg
I found brcmfmac43430a0-sdio.txt and brcmfmac43430a0-sdio.TMAX-TM800W610L.txt were missing.
I added them and for both files I used nvram file for Jumper EZpad mini 3 tablet.
Broadcom driver is being loaded oknow  but WiFi freezes system just after turning it on. I am turning on WiFi using regular WiFi icon.
Bluetooth turns on ok and works fine (befere turning on WiFi)

Hardware is: Atom Z8300, Wifi Broadcom 4356. Windows 10 loads 43430a0 driver.

What I triad and tested so far:
- I took windows nvram file - no change ,- tablet freezes just after WiFi turns on
- I tried  rm brcmfmac and modprobe brcmfmac ,- tablet freezes just after WiFi turns on
- I tested different android-x86 distribution - tablet freezes just after WiFi turns on
- I tried all nvrams I found on the internet - tablet freezes just after WiFi turns on
- I tried to manually scan WiFi SSIDs in terminal window: ip link set wlan0 up  and then  iw wlan0 scan  - works fine I can see surrounding WiFis,
- I tried different bin (different version of driver) and txt files - tablet freezes just after WiFi turns on or WiFi does not work at all.

I got stuck with my problem...
i would appreciate any help or ideas ! I've been struggling for two weeks now...
Thanks.

Please test other modern Linux distributions (Ubuntu / Fedora, etc)
to see if WiFi works or not.

I have tested latest Fedora 31 today.
I added missing files brcmfmac43430a0-sdio.txt and brcmfmac43430a0-sdio.TMAX-TM800W610L.txt
Wifi is working ok. Fedora's kernel is 5.3.7. Does it mean for Android-x86 Oreo r4 there is something different in kernel ?
Thanks for any help.

Yes, we use the LTS kernel 4.19.
Probably that makes the difference.

You may search the forum to find unofficial images
with newer kernel shared by others.
If you have the ability to build from source,
you may try to upgrade the kernel yourself.
Or, you may wait next release (probably Android 10)
which may equip with newer LTS kernel 5.4.x.

You may also share the missing files you use.
Will add them in the newer releases.
