Hello,

I run the standard 1.6-r2 version of Android-x86 on an Acer Aspire One
(AOA110/ZG5). It runs pretty fast and Wifi works too...

Unfortunately the resolution is set to 800 x 600, this means that the
screen width of 800 is streched to 1024. Has anybody got it running on
the native resolution of 1024 x 800? (I´ve seen that that should work
for eeepcs),

Can I do anything to make it use its native resolution?

I have to say that I am not very familiar in compiling kernels and
cooking images (Maybe with a Step-by-Step Guide...).

Thanks for any hints and help, rgds, Markus

It depends on the framebuffer driver, and
the video chipset your netbook uses.

Most netbooks including EeePC use
i915/i945 chipsets. You may to to
load i915 driver first.

Thanks for your answer.

This Acer AOA101 / ZG5 uses the Intel 945GME chipset, with the Intel
Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (Intel GMA 950). So that should work
with the i915 driver. But how do I load the driver? Do I have to
rebuild the image?

Has anybody an answer for my question? (I am sorry, I just begin to
dig into this...)

First, try to boot into debug mode.
At the first time it stopped, try
modprobe i915
to see if it enter framebuffer mode correctly.
If yes, you're lucky.

Then modify the auto-detect script recognize
your machine and load i915 driver.
Yes, you have to rebuild the image, of course.

Hi,

How to detect what resolution Android-x86 by default built for?

For example, I can use Eclair-x86 image on multiple laptops with
different resolutions. I can see Android booting up properly and see
much of the apps working. I can figure out some differences in
resolution while playing some videos / games.

Sreeni

Hi,

I heard eclar-x86 is not based on 2.1-r2, correct? Where to find its repo?

Best regards
Jack
