Hi,
I have tried installing Android X86 on my Surface 3 (non-pro) in the past two days. Among a lot of options I have tried, two firmwares are close to perfect:

android-x86_64-7.1-rc0-for-s3.iso Audio working, rotation & battery status not working
cm-x86_64-14.1-r2.iso Audio not working, everything else works

Most firmwares I've tried don't have working audio. I am wondering if it's possible to somehow combine the two firmwares to make a perfect one.

Thanks!
Chen

Audio is fine for me. Actually all releases
in the recent one year have working audio on Surface 3.

I doubt if your model has unknown id.
Please show the result of the command (by root)

cat /sys/class/dmi/id/uevent

Also show the dmesg and lsmod for comparison.

Hi Chih-Wei,
Thanks for your reply! Please see the attachment for details.
I just tried these commands on a ubuntu 18.04 live cd - the audio isn't working there either. Hopefully that won't make a big difference with android.
Best,
Chen

The info looks all sane.
Almost the same as mine.

Is there any chance your audio hardware was broken?

Forgot to ask. What's the output of 'cat /proc/asound/cards'?
