I recently tried to USB boot (fat32) the Android-x86 4.0-RC1 live and installation iso for ASUS Laptops/Tablets it starts and works pretty fine but no sound.

I also tried the stephan seidel version for thinkpad (the Update from 7th March 2012) but it doesn't start at all. I wanted to download the previous version to see if it worked better but I'm not able to download it.

Do anybody has a solution for having a stable version on tm2. For the moment I'm waiting for win8 if no solution appears.

Well i'm testing the 4.0-RC2 tx2500 on my HP Touchsmart tx2.
By what I see of the specs there are some small differences being the major one the intel processor (mine is amd).
Even the touch screen may supported out-of-the-box as is wacom.

Don't know if a AMD build will work on Intel but if it does, so should most of the rest.

Just give it a try and tell how it goes ;)

It's a shame, but predictable.
As far as screen rotation, I read somewhere that F8 threw F11 rotates the screen is pressed twice in less than 2 secs, but on my build is from F5 trew F8.
You also have to turn on AUTO on screen rotation, so just give it a try.

Also you can install an app for screen rotation lock as I did.  ;)

I am running the Asus laptop build on my Tm2 2100-cto notebook and it runs great other than the sound so great props to the team on the driver support!

I haven't tried the ac97 audio support yet but will be trying that next so If you could link instructions on how you got things working on yours I would love to try them on mine.

so the only other problems I am seeing with that build are the screen rotate button not working (the lack of the aceleromiter are crazy) and it complains that it isn't an asus laptop while it is booting

and as far as your tx2500 build goes it crashes during the boot so that is a no go with the amd/intel driver change

As far as the screen auto rotate it will never work because the hardware support for it isn't there. and the f8 to f12 are a good Idea but I want to setup the button on the side of the display for when I have it closed running in tablet mode (the one that rotates the screen in windows)

One of the other issues I discovered last night was the switchable graphics aren't nice with the build so if I boot it while pluged in the dispaly dosn't work because of the hardware setup for the AMD graphics but if I boot from the battery it works fine with the intel graphics.

I am still playing with it and will try to compile a custom build for the tm2 when I get everything working but that could be weeks before I find time to really get to it.

Thanks for you help I will keep looking and working on making this the android for the Tm2.

Thanks everyone for the great compile i'm running now most of the drivers work just fine like my camera, touchscreen/pen, touchpad (yes the multitouch will be nice when you get that finished), bluetooth, and wifi.
