First thanks devs, for what you are creating! You have really helped to unlock the latent potential of windows tablets.

I just updated my Asus Transformer T300 Chi from KitKat to Lollipop using the new android-x86_64-5.1-rc1.img. I made the requisite modifications to grub2 and it is booting up and working great... mostly. But I can't seem to get root. During installation I chose to make the file system read/write, and I noticed the the OS has superuser integrated with the settings, but there is no root access. With KitKat it was easy. I just ran a script that I found over on xda, and it rooted without a hitch, but I tried that on this version and it completely borked the installation, so I had to reinstall.

I'd really like to be able to use Adaway and some other root-only apps, any suggestions?

Also, I since I am using android-x86 on a tablet the rotation feature is important to me. With KitKat, I was able to use rotation locker or any variety of rotation control apps from the play store to switch between landscape and portrait manually, but with the new Lollipop image the same apps are very unstable. When I try to use rotation locker to switch orientations, the tablet often soft reboots. Sometimes it works to switch orientation and sometimes not. It's pretty erratic. Any chance of ever adapting the android autorotate feature?

Hi, as listed pn known issues, Superuser is not working on 64 bits version. However, it was already fixed and it's synced on git src repo. You can build a new img or wait next release

Hi pstglia, I met the same issue with hunchan.
Could you tell which commit/branch fix the Superuser issue that we can build the img?

Thank you!
Regards.

Hi, instructions on how to build can be found on android-x86.org (source files are also there)

You can also check download section pf android-x86.org. Some people use to upload their generated image files there
