Hi there!

I´ve noticed a strange behavior in all android 7.1 builds that were avaiable at the moment:
I´m running LineageOS 14.1 on my x86 Tablet but I had this issue or feature on a regular laptop or on my pc which makes sense on those devices but a Tablet I can move easily so i don´t want to have this.
So in this case is it possible to easily disable it?

edit /etc/init.sh

change the line has_sensors=false to has_sensors=true

Indeed I've introduced a kernel cmdline variable
HAS_SENSORS to override the default has_sensors variable.
(so you don't need to modify init.sh directly)

However, I just noticed there is a small bug in init.sh
that prevents it from working if sensors type is kbd.
I'll fix it.

Will this also enable the hardware rotation sensor?
This device has one but it´s 90 degree inverted (fixed in Windows 10, not fixed in Ubuntu 18.x) so i would need a fix for android aswell.
I can live without but fullscreen in portrait mode would be great.

Off topic question:
Is it possible to use vol up/down and power/windows button to navigate through grub?
I always need my keyboard cover to set my new default OS.

Anyways thank you all for the great help!

Then what's the property ro.hardware.sensors?
Check it by (with root):

getprop ro.hardware.sensors

If it's iio, it could be adjusted.
But you need to use a sensors testing app
to get what the values the iio HAL get exactly.
(and tell us what you see)

Unless your BIOS supports it.

Terminal output is: kbd
I've changed the value that was shown before which disabled my issue but sensors are not working.
Soit rotates only when i open a specific app

The bios is very limitated and doesn't even fully support efi grub  which gives trouble booting most linux build.
I had luck with cm 14.1 x86_64 r2, no other 7.x build does boot
