I also have a Toshiba Encore (WT10-A32) and I have no sound in Android-x86 or Remix OS.  We're probably just going to have to wait until there is support for whatever audio hardware the Encore has (I'm too lazy at the moment to look it up).

Does "cat /proc/asound/cards" command returns anything? Can you attach logcat, lsmod and dmesg output?

You can press ALT+F1 and switch to terminal. Then type this:

# This will check if your card is detected
cat /proc/asound/cards <ENTER>

# This will output logcat, lsmod and dmesg commands to txt files
logcat -d > /sdcard/Download/logcat.txt
dmesg > /sdcard/Download/dmesg.txt
lsmod > /sdcard/Download/lsmod.txt

About dsdt: The interrupt index is different from other devices (0x0000001D/ipc host is index 0, and driver expects it to be 5). Something similar to described here:

Is there a source code available?

In any case, having the same chip/soc doesn't mean it is compatible. Many devices are using the same chips with different Settings (gpio pins, irq table, etc)

I can do a basic check if you provide the info I asked before. Without it, there's not much we can do. Sorry

Thanks,

dmesg shows it is trying to use acpi loader for i2s / baytrail-pcm-audio.
As mentioned above, some indexes are different from what driver expects

As your machine shares the same id's from the Lenovo device we're working on, you can try to use the same ISO:

# ISO link:

It will force the use of atom/sst/sst_acpi loader (intel/fw_sst_0f28.bin fw). After booting, please check if a card was listed:

cat /proc/asound/devices

If yes, we can try changing some alsa controls and replacing a firmware (like described in [1])

But, as I'm warning on Lenovo thread, there's a chance that something wrong with these changes destroy your hardware permanently (audio chip or even entire tablet).
So, if you want to go ahead, do it at your own risk!

Pstglia

Ok. Does "cat /proc/asound/cards" still returns "no soundcard"? Can you post dmesg with this ISO?

I got a solution on my Dell Inspiron 13 - 7359 ...
I using Android x86_64 6.0.1 rc1
Sound Card: HDA Intel Conexant CX20722 (rev 21)
Android is installed to a ext4 filesystem

Just add acpi=noirq to the end of kernel params...

My grub entry:
menuentry 'Android-x86 6.0.1 rc1' --class android-x86 {
        insmod gzio
        insmod part_gpt
        insmod ext2
        set root='hd0,gpt5'
        linux /kernel root=/dev/ram0 androidboot.hardware=android_x86_64 quiet DATA=/data.img acpi=noirq
        initrd /initrd.img

Hi all
Just come back to give you the link of a almost perfectly ROM in this amazing tablet :)
Use the auto install option and everything will work except camera and mic, but you can use phones with mic.
