I finished my install of 9.0-r2 and think it works very well.  When I went to take some screenshots a message appeared "Couldn't save screenshot - Taking screenshots isn't allowed by the app or your organization".  App isn't the issue - can't even do the main screen.  I searched here and found nothing. General search on the web yielded a requirement to configure Google Assistant.  They show an icon that looks like a compass needle that needs to be selected.  I have that page but lack that icon.  I have not turned on the "advanced features" of Google Assistant which may make that icon appear because it appears that you need to agree to give Google everything but your first born.  Even if I did turn this on I still don't know if the icon would appear.  Anyone have a solution? tnx

This is a known issue of 9.0 for some GPUs.
In particular, Intel's iGPU.
It's nothing to do with the apps.

Fortunately it works in Vulkan mode.
You can try to boot from "Advanced options" -> "Vulkan support (experimental)"
if you use UEFI booting.
If you use legacy booting, you have to add
VULKAN=1 to kernel cmdline manually.

Or, you can use the older 8.1-r4 release
which has no such an issue.

Thank you for the quick reply - I will definitely try your fixes.  Side note I should have said that I am using k49.  If that matters please let me know else I will proceed with your fixes.  Again tnx - much appreciated.

It works perfectly with Vulkan support.  This is what I did ...
Booted to my usb stick with the iso on.  Selected Advanced and Vulkan - once up I was able to take a screenshot.
Is there a way to change my existing installed version to use Vulkan since "advanced" does not appear at boot.  I suspect that is what you meant with "VULKAN=1 to kernel cmdline manually."  Sorry I don't know how to do that.  Or is there a way to reinstall to my ssd drive with Vulkan support enabled?  Sorry for my lack of knowledge in this area - please bear with me we are very close.  tnx

I added VULKAN=1 to the boot and the screenshot works fine -  BUT  -  my external monitor no longer works.  Ideas?

Unfortunately it doesn't work in vulkan mode...

If you really need external monitor support,
you may consider to use the older 8.1-r4.

Thank you for the reply and as always tnx for your hard work to keep this project working extremely well.

FYI - When I followed your original instructions and booted to my usb stick with the iso on.  Selected Advanced and Vulkan - I was able to take a screenshot  AND  I had the external monitor working.  So apparently there is a difference  between the 2 flavors of VULKAN or "Installed" vs "Live"  Please don't waste your time with this - you have much more important things to do.  tnx - best regards
