Hi Chih-Wei Huang,

I have ported android-x86-1.6-r2.iso to an x86 based desktop machine.
And I have been successfully able to do that. But I'm facing one
problem using Bluetooth. I have been able to enable the Bluetooth by
installing the required modules from command prompt. It's not done
automatically.
Once done, the device is able to scan devices and able to pair it but
without any connection. Also I'm unable to exchange files.

Please help me.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Souvik

Hi Souvik,

Not very helpful info for U:
I'm able to use bluetooth on my eeepc-901.
I could receive data from another bluetooth device using SPP (rfcomm)
profile.

Might be you should post more details about your prolblem here.

Thanks,
Kwok

I have tried it and can't transfer files.
rfcomm module loaded but didn't create /dev/rfcomm0
If /dev/rfcomm0 created. That will able to connect to Internet via
bluetooth using bluetooth mobile phone.
/dev/rfcomm0 likes /dev/ttyUSB0 for USB Cable.

Hi Kwok,

What's bluetooth chipset used on eeepc 901 ?
Because I got a problem to use Broadcom bluetooth on Android 1.6r2.
But ISSCBTA bluetooth chipset detected on Android 1.6r2.

Hi ady2k10,

I'm not sure about the bluettoh chipset of eeepc 901.

More relevant is below:
1. Does bluetooth work on your system using a recent ubuntu distr,
2. Is the bluetooth bluez stack built correctly, in other words. can
you use the bluetooth tools like hcitool, hcidump etc with the android
1.6r2 or froyo build?

Thanks,
Kwok

Hi Kwok,

Thanks for your suggestions.
As per your questions
1. The Bluetooth dongle does works on my system using recent ubuntu
distr.
2. Yes I'm able to do perform Bluetooth tools commands with my android
system.

When I tried to execute the "Bluetooth File Transfer" application
downloaded from Android Market, it gives the following error:

Bluetooth error
-----------------------
Can't initialize low-level Bluetooth library!

Reason:
android.bluetooth.RfcommSocket

Any help in this regard will highly helpful.

Thanks and Regards,
Souvik

It's working with ISSCBTA chipset on Ubuntu Netbook Edition 10.04 and
10.10
I don't know which package built in Android beside standard bluetooth
module from linux kernel?
I have tested bluetooth on android-x86 and after scanning device "
paired device not connected"
Because current android didn't have /etc/bluetooth/rfcomm.conf file to
define Bluetooth mac address, bind and channel.
From Android debug mode can run sdptool but didn't have hcitool, rfcomm
and hciconfig
Listing files from bluez package on Ubuntu contained all
configuration .conf file and commands (sdptool, rfcomm, hcitool,
hciconfig and etc)

Hi ady2k10,

1. You mentioned you still use the 1.6 build.
I know (from experience) that 2.2 build has more complete bluetooth
support (the API is also different).
Might be you should switch to the 2.2 build.

2. How do you test the bt service?
Do you write the program yourself and (if yes) did you try the program
on an Android phone?
If you could send met the source code of your program to me, I could
review it and test it on my eeepc.
(just to be sure that the program is ok, you never know ..)

3. Regarding to the bl tools:
I experience that only the alt-f1 debug console has sdptool and
rfcomm.
The other consoles (alt-f2 and alt-f3) has only hciattach.

Kwok
