I tried to port the Android to EC2 and did some research on the PV-
grub stuff, but it failed to boot. Did anyone know how to install on
Xen or EC2? Thanks

There is a paper in the download section of android-x86 which I think
describes exactly what you want to achieve.
If you find out more about paravirtualization in Android, please
report back, I am very interested.

This paper implemented their system on VMware locally, which is not a
problem at all.
I am thinking that it might be more easily to install it on EC2 with
HVM. There should
be someway to recompile the kernel to make it compatible with EC2. I
am still searching
for solutions.

I guess the main problem should be networking and some dummy
framebuffer you could access by vnc or even spice here. Maybe you
could use some Vesa graphic and try it first on a local xen-system?
You might at least see something - even if the networking will not
work in the beginning.
Did you solve the pvgrub - issue?
