I would like to try running Android on my Sony Vaio P (VPCP113KX). It
does not have a touchscreen, but does have an accelerometer that would
mesh well with a mobile OS.

I tried installing android-x86-3.2-RC2-tegav2.iso (picked it because
it has an Atom processor) and it worked decently (the display,
wireless, mouse all seemed fine), however not having the keyboard made
it very cumbersome to use.

Now that 4.0 has been released in RC1, I thought I would give it
another go. I would appreciate suggestions regarding the most
appropriate build choice.

For your records and for build recommendations my Vaio P has a:
Intel Atom Z530 CPU
Intel GMA 500 GPU
Toshiba THNSNB128GMLJ SSD
Atheros AR9285 Wireless

I wouldn't try running 4.0 on an Intel processor as it has a lot of quirks with getting Hardware Acceleration to work. ICS works flawlessly on Atom processors as engineers from the Atom team give Chih-Wei a hand with the development.

Anyway, what do mean by not having a keyboard? I thought VAIO P's came with a small keyboard?

Sorry, I guess that could have been read the wrong way. What I meant
was that the Vaio P's keyboard didn't function in Android. I tried to
look through the settings to activate it, but could find nothing. I
assume that it didn't have / load the proper drivers.

I am confused when you say that 4.0 doesn't work well on Intel
processors, but that ICS (I assume that's short for Ice Cream
Sandwich) which I thought was the same as 4.0 works well on Atom
processors which are made by Intel. Can you clarify?

Really sorry. My bad. That should have been the AMD processor. As you know, AMD has been losing to Intel lately and they have decided to enter the tablet scene. And what better way than Android x86?

It is AMD's engineers who give support to Chih-Wei.

Did you try it in VMWare or equivalent to see if its working?

Oh and does the onscreen keyboard work? Try installing a build like Gingerbread or Froyo. When I tried Froyo on my Sony VAIO E Series, the keyboard worked very well. But when I installed Honeycomb, it wouldn't work.
