I recently tried to install Android-x86 4.4 RC2 on an Acer Aspire E1-522 which has an AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon HD8400 graphics on it. When I try to boot, I see some dots floating on the screen, I suppose it is the loading screen of Android, and after that, the dots change their color and position, presumably going to the Configuration Setup.
After a few hours, I have downloaded a newer build (Android-x86 r2) which fixed the problem, but something else happened: although I can see everything ok now, the image is very slow, like 1 frame per 2 seconds. I tried booting with the nomodeset parameter, and it made no difference. After that, I tried to boot with xforcevesa and I got corrupted graphics again.
I think it has to do with the video driver included in the kernel, because Linux 3.10 which came with Android-x86 RC2 did not have the driver for my APU, but the kernel 3.18 included in R2 has it. But why do I get bad graphics with this driver?
Help is apreciated guys, and if you have any idea, please leave a reply.
