Hi,

I have an Intel board with US15W (chipset) + Atom Z530 processor, I have built the poulsbo frame buffer driver for Android-x86 donut-1.6 from  http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mobile/ubuntu/pool/main/p/psb-kernel-source/psb-kernel-source_4.41.1.orig.tar.gz. I have made the necessary changes in the scripts to load the psb module at bootup. I could see the modules loaded properly without any issues however I do not see the android UI once booting as the screen goes blank. Has anybody in this group had success in getting the graphics running with Poulsbo module?
Attached is the log file which I have taken when the poulsbo module is loaded, in which I could see the resolution set properly (I have got this log with the VGA display device connected to my board) and the frame buffer device entry is also created in /proc.

Appreciate your help in letting me know if I am missing something here.

Thanks & Regards,
~Sharad.

I have done the same test and got same result as you,
(psb module loaded, but can't enter android GUI)
about half a year ago.
I didn't test again.

Hi,

I'm able to get the android UI with the PSB frame buffer driver, did some work around to get it working.
The problem with PSB frame buffer driver was related to the mapping address which was passed to the psbfb_fault().

Though am able to get the UI working, still there are issues related to the colorspace as still the display has some kind of patches.

Thanks & Regards,
~Sharad.

Hi,

I'm trying to do same thing.

But in my case, psb modules can't find msvdx_fw.bin file.

Where should I put this file?

I've tried to put it
/system/lib/firmware
/lib/firmware
/etc/firmware
And so on....

But no luck...

Help me.
