Hello,

Can somebody tell me if there are (preferably 4G) miniPCIe modems that works with the live version of Android-X86 (we would like to avoid that we need to compile android-X86 again). E.g. a Huawei ME909u-521 (or Sierra Wireless, Quectel ...)

Thanks
Peter

Huawei is supposed to be supported,
but only very limited devices are tested.

Please read /system/etc/init.sh (in the image)
to see how to enable libhuaweigeneric-ril
for your device.
Provide a patch if you can make it work.
Thanks!

The release note said that some HUAWEI 3g modems are supported in 4.4. But I have no idea about how to make the modems work(I have a em820w and some other modems using Qualcomm chips). So i wonder what modem can be supported in Android x86. And besides HUAWEI modems, is there any other useable modem?
Otherwise, if the 6.0 r1(or CM x86 13) can support more modems?
Finally, would you please tell me if there is any other way to use 3g/4g connection?(I tried ppp widget 3 but got some problems)
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
(And sorry for my poor English)

4G modem can work as a generic ethernet connection if it has a working Linux driver and you can get it to connect somehow.
But it will not integrate with Android OS, because there's no working RIL implementation (the huawei implementation is old and unmaintained).
