As I tried to install Android-x86 on my Chuwi Hi10 Pro tablet, I could select the options in GRUB, but not in the installer. It is only working with a PS/2 keyboard, I also had this problem on a desktop computer. Adding USB keyboard should be a fix for future times, probably some devices won't have a 'USB Legacy Keyboard/Mouse' option in the BIOS anymore.

I'm surprised by the report.
USB keyboard support is built-in, of course.
I almost always use USB keyboard when testing a tablet.
And I never heard anyone complain about that.

What USB keyboard did you use?
Does it work in Android-x86 UI?

I have USB-C and micro-USB. I used a micro-USB hub and a Logitech keyboard with Unified receiver (keyboard + mouse). I haven't tested it on USB-C. The problem also apperaed on desktop computers with the same keyboards. Mainly I'm using older Logitech receivers with a big receiver and PS/2 connectors, these are working.

The problem only affects the text-based Android-x86 installer, not the operating system when I boot the Live OS. I also have no problems in GRUB of Android-x86, in Xubuntu, GRUB2, in the DOS prompt of the Windows recovery console and whatever. It's just the Android-x86 installer shich doesn't allow cursor keys, return key and so on. The keyboard is also detected in the BIOS which has lots and lots of options. This tablet has more options in the BIOS as I've ever seen on any PC.

Don't ask me. I'm no Linux expert and can say that Xubuntu 18.04 is working, Android-x86 8.1 is working in the OS, and everything Windows-based. Just the text-based installer of Android-c86 was not working.

I can test USB-C later, have to charge the tablet first. I have an USB-C hub with four USB 3.0 ports and HDMI.

So, I've used the large old Logitech Cordless Pro keyboard on the tablet. The receiver has one green PS/2 mouse connector and one USB connector which works for keyboard and mouse. The text-based installer worked with this keyboard, also the operating system. These are two Logitech keyboard/mouse combinations with Unified receiver, with these the text-based installer doesn't work.

Keyboard: K270 Mouse: M505
Keyboard: K340: Mouse: M185

Maybe somebody has the same keyboards or other with Logitech Unified receiver.
