By unknown reason i cant make machine to respond as a samsung ace or
so.
I need to avoid that android tablets use my program, but before that i
need the machine to act as a galaxy ace (and the resto of samsung
phones) but, as example, to avoid galaxy tab.

Any help?

Thanks in advance!

Herman.

I'm sorry, but I'm not able to understand your query. Do you mean you want your x-86 to run Touch-Wiz UI?

Apart from the appearance, the other aspects of all Androids are same irrespective of the device. Which is one reason why one SDK is enough to compile an app for all Androids.

Herman,

Android-x86 is a port of Android to Intel x86 hardware.
When you run Android-x86 on Intel x86 hardware, you can modify it's
behavior, but I'm not sure this is the project for that use case.

It sounds like you are looking for an emulator.

You may want to contact Samsung about a device emulator for the Galaxy Ace.

Thanks for the link. I've been investigating on Galaxy S emulation
too.

What is it failing is the device recognition. I think it is still
believing that my Android-x86 is a tablet, so the program does not
run.

Are you saying that the Android emulator should work for all devices,
so my problem could be only setting the right screen size/resolution?

Is that the only way to differentiate between different types of
android phones and devices in a program?

Regards,
Herman.

Basically yes. There is another difference that makes it completely different, of course. That is your using Android version 3 and above, including  ICS trends Android to recognize your system as a tablet because of the screen size rather than as a phone. If you use Froyo or Gingerbread, I think the application you mention might work. But, then again, native apps compiled for Android devices won't work on x86 because they require a set of libraries based on ARM, which x86 had not been able to emulate so far.
