Hello all,

This is still in line with my problem on my eGalax usb touch panel.
I found out that Linux kernel 3.5.4 yields good results for the touch panel.
Of course, I was running it in Ubuntu 12.04.

So I thought "what if I enable Android on this kernel and use it for my build?"
Yes, starting from Linux kernel 3.3, Android has been merged back.
However, when I double checked the required modules for Android
based on Androidx86/kernel/Documentation/android.txt, I found out that most,
if not all, of the modules are not enabled in 3.5.4

Can someone point me to a patch file or howto for patching Linux kernel to enable Android?
Hoping for your support guys. Thanks and best regards,
- tsukishiro

I'd like to know as well as I have all sorts of issues. I suspect if it was so easy it would be readily available already.

I don't think there's a public guide for Android-x86 kernel compilation. I do know that many ARM smartphone devs are porting Kernel 3.6 RC's to their Android builds, so it's certainly possible.

If anything, this would extremely help with compatibility, since it appears that the next Android release is targeting Kernel 3.4, which means any hardware that requires 3.5 or 3.6 is going to be left out of the loop without bending-over-backwards to support it.

Anyone else with kernel experience want to help whip up a guide? I'll lend a hand when time permits, but I'd appreciate someone else taking point on that one.
