nowhere does my post reference www.linux.org...please read it again...

maybe because they are the one who host git.android-x86.org

as stated by the project lead:

"The git server is provided by TANet Hualien Center
and maintained by some volunteers from Taiwan
Linux user group (TLUG). It provides many services
for TLUG for over 10 years and serves our project
over 5 years."

Why would I want to click that link to traceroute www.linux.org?

My post clearly states that git.android-x86.org is down not www.linux.org.

It's because git.linux.org.tw and git.android-x86.org are hosted on the same server with IP 210.240.39.201.
HTTP service is down, but SSH service seems to be up, so maybe the site can be revived remotely by someone who has access (Chih-wei ?).

Besides...I didn't ask for proof that it was down, I already know its down.

I was just notifying the group that is was down in hopes of getting it back online quicker.

linux.org is not the same as linux.org.tw

on previous thread, I remember that we are discussing about moving the git server somewhere, and if I remembered correctly, I suggested GitHub.

i've read about GitHub yesterday ... it says repository should not exceed 1gb ...
Well, totally not an option. Sorry :(
(actually I did not really understand why the android source is very big, and where did that file are stored. I never compile myself, because I don't have enough power :( )

BUT.....if you only put KitKat & Lollipop on github and leave the others(jb / gingerbread / etc.)
as they are would it then be possible??? OR maybe as a mirror of KitKat / Lollipop only???

Android-IA hosts it's source on github: https://github.com/android-ia
But I guess Intel uses a paid account.

Is the 1 GB limitation only applicable to a single repositiory or to the whole account ?

I pushed kitkat-x86 to Github on my unpaid account without a problem. Haven't synced it in two months, but if someone needs it the manifest is at https://github.com/darren-clark/android_manifest.

Just took time, but no problems from GitHub.

Hi Darren,

I downloaded your code and built the iso image successfully. However, when I
installed the OS on virtual box, the mouse pointer is not shown. Therefore,
I cannot control the Android OS. Disabling mouse integration does not solve
the problem.  Could you tell me your environment? Or any suggestion to
solve my problem are high appreciated.

Best,

seeings how there already exist a mirror / clone on Source Forge......how about someone with the knowledge and time
volunteer (with assistance from Chih-Wei, only when / if needed..) update the kitkat / lollipop branches on Source Forge.....

Conditional on Chih-Wei having the final say / blessing as it is his hobby / project and should stay his...

Can anyone kindly provide me with the kernel .config file for Android-x86-4.4.r2?
I suppose it should have much less configuration options enabled than the
default x86 config file under x86/boot/configs.
