it's on the framework-res.apk. You have to extract it as zip file and replace file framework-res\res\drawable-sw720dp-nodpi\default_wallpaper.jpg and repack into zip and rename into ạpk (The framework-res.apk on the \system\framework) replace file by paste it into /system first and use root ex set 644 and root and then paste it into \system\framework restart the machine and then force stop the System UI app in Settings

Just go to Vesa mode, don't press enter and edit command VGA=788 (800x600) to VGA=791 (1024x768) is ok just simply enter the VESA mode
On the real machine the kernel auto driver is ok
Tried 6.0 but ran into the "Failed to find cpu0 device node" issue so for now, I'm sticking with 4.4r4 it seems to do the job

Yeah every version but must have vesa mode ok if auto driver of opt 1 not working like latest 6.0.2 release (you asked me it failed cpu0)
