Installing android-x86_64-5.1-rc1.img in Virtualbox.

Hello guys.
I'm trying to install Android x86_64 on virtualbox.
As virtualbox doesn't currently support .img disc images i had to convert the image to a .vdi file using the command: VBoxManage convertfromraw --format VDI android-x86_64-5.1-rc1.img android-x86_64-5.1-rc1.vdi
Everything works fine but i'm not able to install either grub or grub2 EFI.
The installer just hanges with a blinking cursor when i try to install that.
I suspect that the problem is using the img file as a disc by converting it to the vdi format.
If that's the case can someone please upload on the website the same .img file in the iso format so i can try to install Android using that?
If you think that the problem is something else then i'm avaible to test.
