I managed to get running 4.4 r2 in Acer Aspire Switch 11. There were some problems with the EFI boot mode, but finally I was successful with the "img" version of the LiveUSB.
In the firs moment everything seemed to work ok. It was running smoothly. WiFi, battery indicator etc. worked well. Then I found following problems:
  1. minor problem - the keyboard in the dock was not recognized (although it was during the boot in GRUB)
  2. major problem - even short press of the power button caused "shutdown" menu to appear, no possibility to suspend
  3. critical problem - after ca. 5 minutes of working with the tablet the multitouch started to behave incorrectly, short touching was recongized as long press and the tablet was nearly unable to be controlled. This situation repeated always ca 3 minutes ater each reboot. I did not found any common thing, any operation I always did before it started to misbehave. It seems it is related only to certain time of operation..

I would appreciate any advice or possible fix of the problem.

Thanks to all to their grat job with porting Android to X86 platform. Android is far better for tablets than W8, so dualboot Android/W8 would be perfect choice for 2-in-1 devices like my Acer Aspire Switch.
